Janine Waters, Artistic Driector
Janine has many years experience working in both participatory and mainstream theatre. She has worked extensively with a diverse range of participants and in using theatre for conflict resolution, community cohesion and personal and professional development.
During her time at the Royal Exchange in Manchester, she founded the Refugee Theatre Company and The Muslim Jewish Youth Theatre. She has taught, led seminars and presented at conferences on the uses of Drama within the Citizenship and Diversity framework and regularly teaches at the University of Manchester.
She has writted and directed: “Love Shift”, “Spinach’, ‘Dreaming Under a Different Moon’ and ‘Opening 1914’
Simon Waters, Musical Director
Simon is a composer and facilitator who ran a number of different prison bands at HMP Wormwood Scrubs and Springhill. He has run projects with the Medical Foundation for the care of victims of torture, TIPP (Theatre in Prisons and Probation) drugs projects at LASH (Leigh), The Key Project (Wigan), STASH (Salford), Moss Side and Cheetham Hill Probation, DTTO (Drug Treatment and Testing Order) Outlook (drug and alcohol users) and on a number of projects for both children and vulnerable adults for the Royal Exchange Theatre.
Musical Director of Theatretrain, a youth theatre for children aged 6-18 years, (2003-2010) He composed/MD’d “Love Shift”, “Spinach’, ‘Dreaming Under a Different Moon” and ”Opening 1914″
