ABOUT

Liverpool, 1989. Greg is fourteen. He hates school. Girls are weird. Liverpool FC are everything.

A play by Luke Barnes, Bottleneck is a coming-of-age story through the eyes of a young boy growing up on ‘The Boot’ in Liverpool. Greg kills time causing mischief with his best friend Tom, arguing with Dad and running away from the bizzies, all while waiting for the next big LFC game.

The story takes you on a journey of friendship, adventure, mischief and tragedy. Life will change for Greg, forever.

And for his city.

PRESS & REVIEWS

“This is a wonderful example of local talent and a perfect illustration of how brilliant theatre can be created with good writing and direction using only a simple set, very few props and one very talented young actor with an extremely bright future ahead of him.”

– North West End, ★★★★★

“Cassidy’s electrifying delivery holds the audience in a stunned breathlessness.”

– Good News Liverpool, ★★★★

“We talked about how breathtakingly good Bottleneck was during our train ride home.”
– Fairy Powered Productions, ★★★★★

“I have nothing but respect for solo story-telling. It requires nerve and great ability. Character definitions rely on well defined voices, sharp physicality and an established unspoken agreement with the audience that we are in this together. Cassidy does not fail to deliver all of these under the direction of Chantell Walker.”
