The group meet once a month to play ensemble music specifically arranged for classical guitars. Each session is fun and focused and structured by the conductor with the aim of bringing out a best in each player regardless of experience or ability.
Warm ups and technical exercises
Sight reading (great for exam preparation)
Ensemble and listening skills
Repertoire including; Baroque, Classical, Latin, Contemporary, Flamenco, Pop/jazz standards
Each term we work towards public concerts where members of the group play in full ensembles, duos, trios and solos to a very warm audience of friends and family. The group has been running for over a year now and has a core group of very friendly and committed guitarists keen to welcome new players.
No audition required, but a basic level of reading music will ensure you get the most out of each session. No age restriction, but would advise suitability towards teenagers and adults.
The group meet at The Edge in Chorlton on a Monday evening 6:30pm- 9pm once a month.
Contact Amy Bowles for dates and fees or if you have any questions.
