Are you a mover and shaker?  Do you find yourself dancing in the kitchen?  Do you love moving to music?  Do you dance at every opportunity?  Have you made up routines in front of your bedroom mirror?

Then this class is for you.  This is a creative dance class that uses your favourite moves and encourages you to develop more.  By being the authors of your own work you will learn to create your own dances and extend your movement range making and choreographing solo pieces and group inventions.

The influences will be the movement that people are making in the room, exploring different genres of dance, improvising techniques, interpreting music and having fun!

FAQS/ EXTRA INFORMATION

1. Do I have to sign up to the whole course?
The classes are a course and need to be paid for in advance. Unfortunately we cannot offer drop in fees.

2. I have never danced before – can I come along?
Of course.

3. Where should I come on the day?

All children must be signed in by their parent/guardian in The Dressing Room cafe.

4. What do I need to bring with me?
All you will need to bring is some water!

5. What should I wear?
Wear something you can move freely in, and that is comfortable. We do work up a sweat, so layers are recommended.

6. Do you have changing facilities?
We don’t have changing facilities, just small ladies and men’s toilets and 1 disabled toilet with a little more room, so you are best coming along in the clothes that you are planning on taking the class in.

7. What other facilities do you have?
We have a café at The Edge which serves up delicious hot food, fresh salads and homemade cakes – as well as delicious hot and cold drinks. The café is also a training centre for adults with learning disabilities. And because The Edge is a charity, you know that every penny you spend in the café is going back into the work that we do with children and vulnerable adults.

8. Can I just turn up on the day and pay for the course then?
Yes, but please be aware that this is a course so you will need to start at the first week ideally and pay for the full course.
