Dreaming Under a Different Moon was our first in-house professional production and ran for 4 weeks in November/December 2012:
Take one Edwardian teenager, fill her head with thoughts of travel and adventure, drop her onto a ship with a bunch of outlawed actors from another world, scoop in dollops of comedy, music, love and danger, shake well… and take cover! Join Cassie this winter on her intrepid travels in this funny, squishy, feel-good story of adventure and romance.
“I’m convinced that Dreaming Under a Different Moon is destined for bigger things…it’s the theatrical equivalent of stumbling across a secret acoustic gig. Quite extraordinary! I can’t quite believe my luck to have stumbled across this musical. Just imagine for a moment that you’ve picked up a magical ship in a bottle, and been transported inside to your very own CS Lewis style adventure on the high seas. – The Good Review
“A brilliant cast and an infectious central message espousing the power of the performing arts carry you along, with the production at its best when poking affectionate fun at theatricals…it all adds up to a refreshing and imaginative alternative to Manchester’s more traditional festive offerings.” – The Stage
“Dreaming Under A Different Moon is a spell-binding celebration of live theatre, and has set the bar incredibly high for future productions at The Edge. Janine Waters’ epic musical fantasy has something for everyone. Composer Simon Waters supplies some cracking compositions ranging from full-blown ensemble camp to downbeat heart-breaking solos. The audience cheered and whooped during the curtain call, and the tremendously hard-working cast deserved every second of it” – The Public Reviews
