As a special celebration of Chorlton library being 100 years old, The Edge presented a brand new show supported by Arts Council England and MCC, which was performed at both the library and at The Edge as part of Chorlton Book Festival.

‘Opening 1914’ tells the story of ordinary people opening a long awaited library in Chorlton, against the backdrop of a world just three months into the Great War. The Edge Theatre bring their own unique story-telling style to present the countdown of local events in 1914 and introduce the characters (some real, some imagined) that lived and worked in Chorlton in the first part of the last century.
