We’re hiring! Learning Mentor Position

The Edge Theatre & Arts Centre, Manchester seeks to employ a Learning Mentor to support adults with learning disabilities in our cafe, The Dressing Room.

The Dressing Room is our cafe, serving light meals and refreshments to the general public and is also a training facility for adults with learning disabilities in catering and hospitality, providing meaningful opportunities for people to develop the skills and confidence necessary to prepare them for the open jobs market.


JOB DESCRIPTION

This is an ideal job for someone who is passionate about helping people improve their lives, who loves cafes and believes in the Arts and is looking to join a dedicated and enthusiastic team of professionals.

You will support learning disabled people to develop skills in:

  • Customer Service
  • Working Safely
  • Food Preparation
  • Serving Food & Drinks
  • Basic health & safety awareness
  • Basic food hygiene
  • Emergency first aid (supported)
