Gritty urban comedy drama with a rich vein of the supernatural. A park bench. A homeless man, two burglars, a medium, a fake medium, two war veterans, a widow, a drug dealer, a real medium, a loan shark, Mr Wolf and Little Rabbit, a burn scarred street thief, a street sweeper, an angel and a ghost.
One of them will be murdered here.
Six actors play sixteen unforgettable characters. The story addresses serious issues throughout, it’s a very moving play —  plenty of laughs though interlaced with the drama.
Part of O’Byrne’s critically acclaimed and audience loved Tales from Paradise Heights series of plays set on a fictional northern estate. Mean and moody streets share terrible secrets, along with comedy, tragedy, heart,
soul and humanity.
But there’s something else…
There’s a creeping darkness nibbling at the edges, a place where the urban meets the supernatural, it’s Stephen King meets Jimmy McGovern

Entirely gripping. Utterly enthralling. A play like Joe O’Byrne’s comes along to remind us all what
really matters. Steve Balshaw, Grimmfest

Written, produced and directed by Joe O’Byrne, this sharp and telling play features all manner of
fascinating characters whose lives and loves intersect over the course of a year near a park
bench. Highly recommended and a play and writer that will surely go on to great things.
Kevin Bourke, Manchester Evening News

Makes you understand what really matters in the world you are living in…there were some really
bone chilling moments… and at other times the audience could not stop laughing at what was
happening onstage. Well done to everyone involved, a truly incredible production.
Tracey Fone, Better Than Words

The cast are brilliant, and the stories too, the costume and accent changes are amazing, in the
literal blink of an eye they are someone different. The show enchants you, thrills you, chills you,
haunts you and will break your heart.
John Kristof, Number9Reviews

O’Byrne’s writing has real depth as his characters give a voice to people who are rarely portrayed
in such a naturalistic, truthful way in theatre…an enjoyable evening of storytelling, engaging and
interesting characters who have so much more to say…this has potential to go far.
Gill Lewis, The Reviews Hub

Loved it! Wonderful gags out of left field, intrigue, suspense, heart-rending scenes and heart-
warming moments. A great night of theatre! Do more!
David Slack, Manchester 24/7 Theatre Festival

A wonderful play. It was gripping, it was mind blowing and what an imagination Joe O’Byrne has
– no wonder he is being hailed as Stephen King meets Jimmy McGovern. We were spellbound at
the end, absolutely amazing. Steve and Chris, Radio Clatterbridge.
