A very special ‘Tickle Your Fancy Headliners’ night from Doolally featuring comedian Ian Stone, spoken word artist Thick Richard and acapella singing group The Love Notes.

Ian Stone is a comedian, author, broadcaster and podcaster. He was ranked amongst the top ten stand-ups in Britain by The Independent, He is one of the most talented topical acts and comperes in the country. Edgy and provocative, with an easy-going manner and self-deprecating style, Ian is at great ease bantering with an audience. His TV show ‘The Football’s On’ broadcasts throughout the football season on BT Sport. His book ‘To Be Someone’, about growing up in the Seventies and his love of Paul Weller and The Jam, is available now.
The Lovenotes are local and big fans of Tickle your Fancy. They are a four-piece acapella harmony group, performing in September with a fifth member – the fabulous Helen Watson. They are Faith Watson, Katherine Watson, Jules Gibb and Rose Hodgson. Individually they are mostly choir and workshop leaders or performers in
their own right and have been singing together for 15 years. In that time, they have made five CDs and recorded short films of their performances during lockdown.
Thick Richard has been pedaling his potty-mouthed poems at festivals and clubs up and down the land since 1999. His cynical, lyrical, jet-black humour, intelligent wordplay, well-crafted verse, and occasionally acerbic, well-targeted comic attacks have earned him much respect from artists and audiences from Edinburgh to Glastonbury. He has supported acts including; Kate Tempest, The Fall, The Lovely Eggs, The Courteeners, Jerry Sadowitz, John Hegley, Arthur Smith and Frank Sidebottom. Thick Richard has been heard a number of times on BBC radio, including presenting and writing BBC 6 Music’s Beat of the Day and performed live on the channel for National Poetry Day.
“I like a bit of fun, but this is ridiculous… Stu-fucking-pendous!” John Cooper Clarke
“An unrelenting shitstorm of scabrous social commentary, foul-mouthed and uncompromising wit, razor-edged, acerbic, brutally funny and true. Thick Richard is an angry orator, a comedy wiz and a super-talented
word smith.” Sophie Willan
