Manchester’s Award Winning Theatre For Participation
The Edge runs a comprehensive participatory programme alongside a professional theatre provision (both a receiving and producing house), working with people who are homeless, vulnerable adults and young people using high-quality theatre and arts to transform lives.
Based in a 19th Century former Red Cross Hospital in Chorlton, South Manchester, The Edge is fast becoming a unique space to take part in great theatre and see high-quality, small-scale, theatre from around the country. It was launched in 2011 with award winning actors Julie Hesmondhalgh and Sir Mark Rylance as its patrons.
The Edge also houses rehearsal rooms and workshop spaces available for hire and is home to a fabulous cafe The Dressing Room which hosts a training programme in hospitality for adults with learning disabilities.
